Small catch up-the next round
Queens went pretty well, I survived the Porto talent pool and avoided execution in the list. Clare got her Star of Merit. Folks had nice things to say about Rix being there and helping even though she's so far along. Dominica while not getting to fight in the list did show up after sleeping in it seems and was better for getting the rest, so all the local "kids" where there and none where injured or having a crises thus a good weekend all around. Wanna take this as a chance to brag on my dear wife as she got her her Iris at coronation (I think she was suprised-hard to tell with her) and this was something I thought was overdue by awhile and I'm pretty proud of her, well done. Will be heading out west to visit with "da boss" and train for several days during Thanksgiving, with luck that will help NOT look like a total goob when I enter crown for the first time. Other than that same stuff-different day. Oh and while Im used to being achey the Monday after a tourney I dont like it when it decides to fool ya and wait an extra day-throws my whole week off kilter.

To the Victor-the Spoils
Ok, so Obama won-congrats to all of you who support his views or felt he was the lesser of evils. I'm willing to see what he does but I still don't trust him as far as I can shotput a Buick. I think he better make awesome headway in 2 yrs or he'll likely lose congress. If he goes too far to the left and starts going into authoritarion socialism as opposed to being more centrist then I think someone will probably take a very long range shot at him, and then things will truely get bad. At this point I have become rather apathetic on politics and have been for awhile I dont think either candidate should have had the office. Someone tell Texas A&M to get busy on improving cloning technology. While I'm babbling-can we get rid of the electoral college? Please?

A Bit of This and That
Not a bad weekend past, spent both days at Owlcon playing with toy soldiers. Two days of FOW (Flames of War) a 15mm WWII minatures game. Did rather well, won the Saturday Midwar game and the Sunday Latewar game.So a $20 entry fee netted me about $90 in prizes and getting to game with a calmer crowd than alot of the other tourney games. All in all a good time.
This coming weekend will be the first weekend I can officially fight after the surgery, so if the weather plays nice I'll take light stuff to melee event and see how it feels. Might be fun-if its not raining. Not alot else happening SCA-wise right now, I'm sure that will change in the near future. Starting to gear up slowly for GW.
Next weekend if weather looks ok I'll borrow a trailer and drag bike to Dallas and ride with the guys while the girls do their class thingie. Prob get shield rehung also. With a bit of luck could be an all around good weekend.

To date
Well based on as yet to be released news, my SCA schedule will not be getting more busy. I'm not sure how I feel about this, a very small part of me is kinda ok with it but a bigger part of me is kind of upset. I'm left wondering "If you really wanted it to go this direction why did you suddenly push me to apply?", and to drag it out this much past its due date just adds to the aggravation. It will be up to the chosen one if I'll still be part of the machinery or not and to be honest I'm not sure I wanna play second fiddle to another administration, maybe its time I moved on from that aspect of my SCA life. Ok thats the majority of that venting done. On to other things.
Surgery recovery seems to be going well, guess behaving and following orders is a good thing every now and then. Officially can start fighting again after Valentines. Was thinking about sneaking off to Estrella for a couple of days but we'll see (not sure if embracing the horror is how I wanna step back on the heavy field). Think that about covers sca stuff.
Wargaming stuff is going well, my club really wants me in a two day tourney here in Houston in Feb, just have to figure out a small glitch for that Sunday so we'll see.
Shooting pool again has been kinda nice, we have a fun fairly calm team so we'll see how all that plays out.
